One of my last weddings before wedding got shut down for the majority of the year was a local one in Knockranny House Hotel  (which is just up the road from where I live!) and in the famous Ballintubber Abbey. I filmed this wedding in the third week of February and started out the morning filming in the bridal suite of Knockranny with the bride Julianne and her bridesmaids and family and lovely little boy.

Knockranny is a fantastic venue for a wedding and I always like filming the morning preparations in the bridal suite there it's large and classy and has lots of open windows! The morning preparations are one of my favourite things to film of the whole wedding, i feel that it is the time I can get the most creative shots of the day. Open windows give a lot of natural light which is one of the most important things when it comes to getting creative and beautiful shots of the bride getting ready for the wedding.

The wedding ceremony took place in the famous and amazing Ballintubber Abbey, one of the most popular locations for weddings in the whole country. It has been standing for over six hundred years and you can feel it as soon as you walk in, also it was the wedding of Pierce Brosnan bacn in 2001! I have filmed many weddings there over the years and am lucky enough that its probably the place I have been to the most since I started filming weddings and also one of my favourites.

The grounds are amazing as well for getting the bridal and family photographs as well as the portrait shots.

Heading back to Knockranny for the reception and the staff are always friendly and accommodating and the food and venue are well known for being of the highest quality. Also, everything runs on time! (Very important for a videographer!!)

If you would like to see some more wedding films I have shot in Knockranny and Ballintubber Abbey you can check out my vimeo and youtube page and if you would like some more info on packages and wedding videography information you can email me at or you can contact me via the website here.

Look forward to getting back to wedding normality in 2021!
