Westport Wedding

A recent wedding film I made on a lovely day in my beautiful home town of Westport, Co Mayo. Amy and Edward got married in Westport at the end of this summer. As part of my Highlight package I started in the Plaza Hotel to get some shots of the groom and groomsmen getting ready and just across the road in the Castlecourt I then filmed the morning preparations of Amy and her bridesmaids getting ready as well.

The ceremony took place in Westport Church and then it was time for the bridal shoot with photographer Ciaran from Abaca, also based here in Westport. I've worked with Ciaran many times over the years and highly recommend his work. We got some lovely shots locally, just across the road in the grounds of the library and in the famous Matt Molloy's Pub on the main street before heading back to the Hotel for the reception, meal, speeches and music to dance the night away.

You can see some more examples of the cinematic wedding films I make at my video page, and feel free to get in contact for current prices and take a look at my packages page to see what is available for your wedding day.

Mulranny Wedding Film

A recent wedding film on a rainy day in Mulranny! Rachel and Kane got married in Mulranny this summer and despite the weather a wonderful day was had by all. As part of my Highlight package I started in the cottages at the back of Mulranny Park Hotel filming the morning preparations of Rachel and her bridesmaids and because Kane was just a few doors over was also able to get footage of the groom and his groomsmen getting ready as well.

The ceremony took place in Mulranny Church and then it was time for the bridal shoot with photographer Edward Reid from Newport, I've worked with Ed many times over the years and highly recommend his work. The rain scuppered any plans for a beach shoot unfortunately, so we headed over to Newport to get some shots in the historic Newport House before heading back to the Hotel for the reception, meal, speeches and music to dance the night away.

Ballintubber Abbey Wedding Day

It was a pleasure to film the wedding of a fellow Scotsman a the start of the busy summer wedding period. This film showcases my Cinematic Package, which although more expensive, offers a bespoke, creatively produced cinema-style film of your wedding day in a modern and unique style. The focus is on creative shooting and editing and telling the story of your wedding day through dialogue, shot selection and editing and creative story-telling.

This package also came with a second shooter who was able to capture footage of the groom in the morning, shot simultaneously with the bride's morning prep. They can also get some 'wow' drone shots if the weather permits!

The filming of Billy and Niamh's wedding day began for me at Niamh's parents house in order to get some detail shots of the dress, some final make up shots and putting on the wedding dress. Then it was on to Ballintubber Abbey for filming of the ceremony and to take some creative shots afterwards.

Reception was held in the beautiful grounds of Breaffy House Hotel in Castlebar.

The Cinematic Package showcases the best and most bespoke of my work providing a unique and individual film that you will treasure and rewatch forever.

Enniscrone Wedding Film

One of my weddings from the long Christmas period from last year, one of the most popular dates for weddings and the busiest time of the year for myself is the week from Christmas to new years.

This was the wedding of Jacinta and Joseph, the ceremony took place in Christ the King Church, Aughoose in Mayo and then it was off to the Diamond Coast Hotel, with a few stop offs along the way to take advantage of the beautiful scenery in this part of the world.

You can see some more samples of my Highlight Films on my video page and you can see my prices and packages here.

Mount Falcon Wedding Film

This wedding highlight film tells the wedding day story of Tara and Noel, who got married in the middle of August in Church of Our Lady and St Nicholas Church in Dumore Co Galway, with the reception taking place in the beautiful grounds of Mount Falcon Hotel in Ballina Co Mayo.

Photography was provided by FoKiss and the couple were a delight to work with, very laid back and relaxed on the day! It was delight to create a cinematic wedding film for them. It was nice to get the drone out and get some lovely ariel shots for the wedding video as Mount Falcon has such lovely grounds, and the day was perfect for it.

Mulranny Wedding

One of my highlight wedding films from the start of the summer was a mulranny wedding with the ceremony taking place in Breaffy Church. I started the day a few hours before the ceremony at Jens house in Castlebar, and it was a nice new house with lots of space, white walls and lots of windows, which is a dream for a wedding videographer as there is lots of light and space to get all the nice creative shots that a wedding filmmaker craves!

Onto Breaffy CHurch and again, a lovely church with lots of space and light to set up and film in a discrete manner. After the formalities of signing the register, walking up the aisle and greeting the guests outside the church, we stopped off at a forest on the way to mulranny for the photoshoot with talented photographer Ciaran of Abaca Photography. I like to shoot in woodland most of all because I like the greens and the light and it's always great working with Ciaran as we get on well and have a similar working style of discreet and natural.

It's always nice to film at Mulranny Park Hotel and seeing Asta the head co-ordinator who is always accommodating and friendly. I did my usual rounds of shooting some nice detail shots of the room and cake etc, then filming the guests enjoying their mulranny wedding at reception.

One of the big enquiries I have been getting as a wedding videographer the past six months or so has been about drone footage so I finally bit the bullet and bought one and, although it was one of my first few times flying it, managed to get a nice shot of Mulranny during dinner break!

After speeches and the first dance the day was done and it was back to westport to start editing the latest wedding film. If you like this video you can check out some more at my video page, see my prices and packages, or contact me for more information.

Salthill Hotel Wedding Film

My most recent wedding film I would like to display is a salthill hotel wedding film with the ceremony taking place in the lovely Claddagh Church in Galway City Centre.

With filming of bridal preparations just down the road from the Claddagh Church it was just a short pop up the road to the church to set up for the ceremony. Depsite the lack of parking (!) it's a great church to film in with plenty of wide open spaces to film unobtrusively and lots of light to come through the windows and it's just a beautiful church all round.

Just across the road there is a lovely spot to get some bridal shots and then it was onto Salthill, another lovely spot for filming on the beach. Just across the road the Salthill Hotel also has some lovely green ground with a lake and a bridge for more shots and then it was over to the hotel for the reception.

The Hotel has a great set up for weddings with a separate room for the reception and then a good dining hall for the meal and the speeches after. Then it was time to clear the floor for the first dance and a few dances, and then it was back to Westport for me to let the happy couple and their friends and family dance into the night!

I hope you enjoyed my latest salthill hotel wedding film and you can check out some of my other wedding films here and if you would like to contact me for more information you can drop me a line at or contact me through the contact form here. For current prices and packages head to my packages page and I hope if you have a wedding coming up you will consider me to create your wedding film that will be a treasure for many years to come. I was a very unobtrusive filmmaker with a fly-on-the-wall style and, coming from a filmmaking background, like to create cinematic stories for all my couples.

Knockranny Wedding Video

A local wedding for my latest blog focused knockranny wedding video in Westport Church with the reception to be held in Knockranny House Hotel.

The morning started in the bridal suite at Knockranny Hotel where I was filming the morning preparations of the bride and the bridal party. It's a lovely room to shoot in the lots of space and lots of lovely wide open windows! Marina, the bride, was well on time and in her dress an hour before the ceremony starts, a rarity indeed but always great for me as it means I can get some nice shots of the bride in her wedding dress before I have to go and set up at the church.

Again, Westport Church is my local church and one of my favourites to film in with plenty of space to get the shots I need in an unobtrusive manner, and Father Charlie always delivers a nice relaxed and funny service.

I had a second shooter with me for this knockranny wedding video which comes as standard as part of the Platinum Package, which is great as he has the camera on a steadycam for some lovely cinematic shots and has a drone for lovely ariel footage that can be incorporated into the wedding film.

After the ceremony it was cold and drizzly and we headed up the street to the famous Matt Molloy's pub for a few shots of the couple sipping pints by a warm fire. Photographer was Ciaran Duignan of Abaca Photography, we shoot a lot of weddings together and work well together as we both shoot in a candid, unobtrusive style.

While I was filming with the couple in the pub my second shooter was able to go back to the hotel and grab a few ariel shots on the drone and get shots of the guests arriving and relaxing in the reception area.

The couple arrived back at the hotel in time for some relaxing with their friends and family before being called for dinner and dancing the night away!

Athlone Wedding Film, Radisson Blu Hotel

Coming onto the end of July, right in the middle of wedding video season for me! I made the reasonably long journey for me anyway from Westport up to Williamstown in County Galway to shoot the athlone wedding film for Sheila and Allan on their big day. After making a quick stopover at the grooms place for ten minutes it was over to the brides place to shoot morning prep where I met up with the photographer Alan Hunt. I had met him once or twice before but it would be rare enugh that we would meet so it was nice to run into him again and it was a pleasure to work with him, his relaxed style and genial nature makes a big difference to a long working day!

The ceremony took place at St Theresa Church in Williamstown, a lovely church to film in and then it was straight onto the photoshoot. It was Alan's neck of the woods so we followed his lead and he took us to a few lovely locations where we got some cracking photo opportunities on a clear and warm day.

The reception was at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Athlone. Again, I have shot one or two weddings there in my time but not many, it is rare that I would travel that far from my home base in Westport, but it is a great hotel to film in with lots of lovely light, spacious reception areas, great grub and lovely riverside views.

All the best to Sheila and Allan on their big day and hope that they enjoy their athlone wedding film by All West Videos. For more samples please check out my video page and for prices and packages you can find them here. Feel free to contact me here.

Till next time, all the best.

Mulranny Wedding Film

My most recent Mulranny Wedding Film was shot on a (mostly) warm and sunny day in the first week of July. It started at Suzanne's house where she and the girls were in good spirits getting ready for the big day and I had the pleasure of running into photographer Gary Barrett of again. I have worked with Gary a good few times over the years when he finds himself down in this part of the country.

The ceremony was at the Church of the Holy Rosary in Castlebar, and I arrived as usual an hour before the ceremony in order to give me the twenty minutes or so time I need to set up my cameras and audio for filming of the ceremony. I like working in the church, not just because it is close to home although that helps, but there is a lot of space for me to shoot from a distance and around corners so that I can be as unobtrusive as possible during the ceremony which is the way I like to work.

It was then onto Mulranny for the photoshoot. We went down to the beach at the golf course where Gary set up some shots with the couple and the bridal party in the warm sun. It was great to hang out with Suzanne and Rory and their friends during this time as they were so relaxed and easygoing and friendly.

Onto Mulranny Park Hotel for the reception and another popular venue that I film a lot in. It's great to work here due to the professionalism of the staff, especially Asta the wedding coordinator who is very helpful and friendly all the time.

It was a pleasure to work with Suzanne and Rory on their big day and create their five minute highlight wedding film for them and I hope you enjoy the wedding film as much as they did.
